5 Best Sports Bars in Chicago

5 Best Sports Bars in Chicago

With the Bulls & Bears seasons underway, your crew needs a weekly hangout to catch all the games! Here are five of the best sports bars in the area:

1. The Anthem

Anthem
Located in the Wicker Park, this 70’s themed bar boasts an impressive list of over 50 bottled beers, as well as a wide variety of whiskey (which is perfect for their $6 special of a shot and beer). Enjoy watching the game on one of their two HUGE projectors! (150 in. and 190 in., in case you were wondering.)

2. Public House

Public House
Three words: Table. Top. Taps. (Now say that five times fast!) Located in the heart of River North, this 10,000 sqft. restaurant also moonlights as a beer hall/nightclub, complete with table tap booths that allow patrons to pour their own shots & beers, and a 30-foot HD video screen. Their extensive menu also includes gluten-free & pup friendly options!

3. Timothy O’Toole’s

Timmy O'Toole's
With 48 beers on tap and a kitchen that stays open until 3 am, it’s not surprising that this northside pub is a fan favorite. On top of their extensive menu, they also open early on game days (9:30 am for games that start at noon) AND they offer shuttles to Soldier Field for Bears home games.

4. The Globe Pub

Globe Pub
What started off as a (real) football spot, has now expanded into one of the best international pubs in Chicagoland. The Globe has 30 TVs (and multiple cable subscriptions) so that they can broadcast as many international games as possible, all at once. And while the pub may have British roots, they have an incredibly diverse beer list, offering over 400 different selections on their menu at any given time!

5. WhirlyBall

northeast-corner-500
With three different locations in the Chicago area alone, WhirlyBall is not your average sports bar! If you are just looking to catch the game, take advantage of their gameday specials - which include $5 Huddle Burgers & $14 buckets of Miller Lite. For patrons looking for a little extra fun, each of their locations offers WhirlyBall - a unique combination of lacrosse, hockey, and basketball, which is played in a bumper car! Other locations also offer arcade games, bowling, and laser tag!
