You can now book an epic match in the one-of-a-kind sport of Whirlyball!
While everyone knows football, basketball, and baseball, we can sometimes forget the many, truly odd sports out there in the world. In Florence, there’s the handball, rugby, MMA hybrid of Calcio Storico. In Japan, there’s the extreme, capture-the-human-flag-style game of Bo-Taoshi, and in Chicago, there’s Whirlyball.
If ESPN The Ocho were a real channel, chances are you could catch Whirlyball on there, probably on weekend nights. The game involves elements of lacrosse, hockey, and basketball, as well as — you guessed it — bumper cars.
Now, you’ll be able to try your hand/paddle/foot at the game with Whirlyball open for bookings.
Whirlyball is open by reservation only, which you can do at their page here. Whirlyball has timed sessions that you can choose for your group during the booking of your reservation.
If that’s just not your game, the Whirlyball facility is also the home of a multi-level laser-tag arena, bowling suites, billiards (at their Vernon Hills location), and arcade games.
Furthermore, the Whirlyball facility offers a stacked menu featuring everything from slides to wings, to salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and desserts; one that is complete with top-notch craft beers from local breweries as well as wine, spirits, and an assortment of cocktails.
In the Chicagoland area, Whirlyball has locations in Chicago, Vernon Hills, Brookfield, and Naperville.
Whirlyball is offering a number of different packages with various pricing including a Good Times deal, which includes an hour of Whirlyball, bowling, or laser tag + unlimited pizza and three appetizers for $30 a person.
